How to wash clothes and accessories from wool and woolen felt

Nowadays, more and more people are choosing natural materials that do not cause allergies, static electricity, do not get stuck and do not smell. And they're just beautiful, comfortable and even easy to maintain, despite the idea of the opposite. The wave has unique properties. If you have a garment or accessory of pure wool, it is extremely easy to maintain because there is no need for frequent washing. Natural wool, when not subjected to aggressive factory treatment and preserved its structure and composition, can self-purify. Can you imagine? The products of pure 100% wool, without other impurities, even after multi-day wear very difficult to accept bodily odors and only partially. Therefore, they are preferred by professional mountaineers, alpinists, and athletes associated with long residency in extreme conditions. For those who wear real wool socks in the cold weather or on a mountain, they probably do not have a secret comfort and warmth. No matter how wet your feet are, you won't get cold. But the socks, though wet, do not smell! And they don't need a daily shift. If you have taken any odors yet, you can ventilate it in the fresh air and your cloth will have a fresh scent in just a few hours. In our search for cleanliness and perfect hygiene, we often wash or clean our clothes more often and more than necessary. For wool products, however, in the case of feeling, and especially the outerwear of special and expensive fabrics, this is not only a surplus, but it can quickly ruin it! Although with very rare exceptions, the felt and knitted products of wool are washed only by hand. Don't do your laundry experiments in a washing machine. The results are usually highly disappointing. Even if you have a label on your factory-produced garment containing wool, indicating that it can be washed in a washing machine, it is preferable to wash it by hand. When necessary, especially with pure physical contamination, you can gently wash in cold or lukewarm water up to 30 degrees celsius only with water. You can do this with a soft detergent, suitable for washing wool and silk. Currently, on the market, there is a huge variety of such, mostly liquid, washable means. If you do not have a similar, you can use hair shampoo for this purpose. Dissolve the required amount of detergent in the appropriate amount of lukewarm (up to 30 degrees Celsius) of water as indicated on the bottle of the preparation. This is usually 1 cap of 4-5 liters of water (a quantity in 1 basin or sink). Immerse the product in the soap solution. Wash, squeezing the fabric carefully with your hands. Don't twist. Do Not rub. Small accessories such as brooches, necklaces, and even non-large scarves can be washed even on tap under running cold or lukewarm water with liquid soap or shampoo. The alkaline composition of the washing preparations is a great enemy of the protein fibers, such as wool and silk and breaks them down in longer contact with it. Therefore, after washing, rinse thoroughly with water until it becomes transparent, i.e. the soap is completely washed off. It is very important not to change the water temperature when you rinse Finally, it is good to rinse with water in which you have dissolved about 50-100 g of vinegar per 4-5 liters of water to neutralize the remnants of soap in the fibers, especially when the products are denser or thicker. If, after this procedure, the odor of Vinegar is too strong, you can remove it with one more rinse with clean cold water. Hope you have enjoyed our pure wool products.
